(456 posts)I don't know how to post pictures here, but this is the link to the Artist's Democratic version of that painting, he has been doing these type of painting for years. I don't know if the Trump painting is a commissioned piece. My only fault with it is that it suggests that the other President's would associate themselves with TRUMP. Sorry but when I look at these type of paintings I thinks of "Dogs playing Poker"

(15,437 posts)What a shame that they can't all live together and be in their presidential primes. I honestly thing they would all have a great time together, with the probable exception of Andrew Jackson. His time was just so far back that I don't see him fitting in.

(205,523 posts)For one thing, he's not really a Republican. TR and Nixon cared about the environment, Ford went on to help Jimmy Carter deal with Congress and they became close friends, Ford worked with the Carter Center. And we know how Poppy Bush feels, he voted for Hillary! Can he sue??

(58,785 posts)conservatism has been purged from the Republican Party. Leaving Trump's, the Kochs' and the religious right's kinds.
W, though, understands and undoubtedly approves this administration's and congress's moves to consolidate authoritarian power. Within W's limited abilities, of course, but the same kind of people were directing his own moves to subvert democracy in favor of authoritarianism as are acting behind Trump. His poor father.

(205,523 posts)And certainly not with Trump. But you're right about W, his support of Kavanaugh was disappointing. And here we thought there might be hope for him because Michelle Obama seems to like him. But then she's a very kind person. I agree that his Dad must be disappointed - and his late mother felt the same way!
And I know a lot about Jimmy Carter since I listen to his autobiography in my car - and I learn something new every time, LOL. He got along pretty well with Poppy Bush, too. He also used the resources of the Carter Center.

Literally modern Enlightenment thinking versus resurgence of pre-Enlightenment tribalism and belief in dark forces (in which we're the demons, of course).

(205,523 posts)But she's turning out to be just as cruel and offensive as Trump.
And the current usurpers in the White House have no knowledge of or regard for the Founding Fathers - something Republicans once cared about. They blatantly disregard the rule of law and have given up any pretense of advocating for the American people. I believe this is just the latest moneymaking scheme for Trump and how he gets anyone to go along with his ridiculous ideas - except his immediate family (which is a whole other abomination) - is beyond my comprehension!

(6,110 posts)do not know much before that. May be the painter selected the more well known/more recent presidents. If he included every president, it could look overcrowded.

(15,437 posts)If we were talking actual age from birth, poor Andrew Jackson is standing and is a robust 251.
