To be President, you need to pass a science & civics exam

Litmus test? No, common sense. You also need to know what a litmus test is. As well as what climate change is and DNA testing.

Without a basic understanding of science, math and civics, a leader cannot lead. How can we expect to flourish, much less survive when we are lead by those who deny science and scientist's, do not know basic world history or comprehend the fact that politics and science do not mix.

God help us all when we are ruled by someone who likely could not pass a 6th grade science test.

This is a tough one because I agree with the sentiment - but I'm thinking about our recent confirmation hearing - where the Supreme Court Nominee claimed that he would judge each case on it's individual merits - a clear and blatant lie but it's what you have to say to get a seat on the bench. When it comes to the freedom to choose or toe LGBT rights he's made up his mind.

By the same token - while there are some red flag issues we might ask about "Do you think that the Civil War was caused by states rights, and if so what rights did people specifically want?" (answer - the "right" to own slaves) learning the correct answer there isn't too hard -and if we had a change in the guidelines, seems like it could go the other right. They might decide the right answer is something to do with Tarrifs and Taxation.

The man has zero knowledge about how the government works, and even less desire to learn. He has gotten where he is, in life, by ignoring the rules the rest of us must obey, being propped up by enablers, and nobody has time time or patience to drag him into civilization.

I worked with someone who had an identical way of going through life. When she was called on something she'd done wrong, or it was demanded that she be held to account, dealing with her responses of denial and deflection was like swatting at fruit flies.

Might even want to include a drug test. If corporations can...
