Three weeks and four days ...

Until the election.

Judging from Trump and the Republicans recent attacks on the Democrats, this is going to get down and dirty in the next three weeks.

Do the Democrats need a strategy on how best to fight back?

I would suggest the old Karl Rove strategy - attack them on their perceived strong points. The economy, Kavanaugh, and their taxcuts.

The economy is running on "borrowed" money and borrowed time. The deficits are now a trillion dollars per year. That cannot be sustained. The taxcuts were good for the 1%. With the price of everything going up with inflation, especially food and gasoline, most working people have less money to buy with now than before the taxcuts. As for Kavanaugh, he was rammed thru to the Supreme Court with many questions still lingering. Republicans did not care about the sexual assault issue.

Republicans would not expect these issues to be attacked by the Democrats.

That is a HUGE indicator of future trouble for the economy, as housing-related expenditures drives a great deal of economic activity. Housing slows down, so does much of the rest of the economy. Big trouble could be looming, and the recent stock market declines reflect that to a big degree. Consumer confidence is down also--more trouble. Highlight the fact that the 1% got most of the tax cuts, and the working people got zilch, and lose in the long run. The 1%ers are buying superyachts, corporations are buying back shares (thus making the already-wealthy even wealthier), and wages are stagnant for the middle-class, while health-care gets more expensive, thanks to repugs sabotaging the system. If we can't beat them with cudgels like that, we don't deserve to be in the game.

I agree -- attack them on their "strengths." Also, on their weaknesses.

Things are looking pretty good in my region. My cousins in PA report the same.
