Five deaths in Virginia from TS Michael

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) -- Multiple deaths across Virginia are being blamed on Tropical Storm Michael.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management said in a tweet there were five Michael-related deaths across the Commonwealth. The tweet also noted there were five suspected tornadoes.

Officials confirmed to 10 On Your Side four of the deaths were in the western portion of the state, while the fifth was in Central Virginia.

Hundreds of thousands of people lost power from Michael, as the storm's high winds knocked over trees and power lines.
