...we toured the Sistine Chapel --er, the Reagan Shrine. None of us is Republican, and we all remember the avuncular old B-movie actor. We bit our tongues as we walked among the worshippers.

That said, it is an impressive building with a stunning view. They've got freaking Air Force One and Marine One and you can walk through them. Recommended.

I may get to see the hologram. My friend has discovered that the next exhibit is going to be about Pompeii.

...it seems totally appropriate.

Although I live not so far from the Reagan library (and have driven past it countless times) I've never braced myself to go inside.

The 118 Freeway that leads there (depending on one's route) is known in this family as the 666 freeway (the Ronald Wilson Reagan freeway).

Not a fan, to say the least.

I would not have entered the place except my friend really wanted to see the Genghis Khan exhibit, which was pretty good, all things considered. Not up to LA County Museum of Art standards, but only because it was not wrapped around by the wonders of LACMA's permanent exhibits.

My other comments are below. You don't have to go and believe me, I understand.

And didn't inherit a mess from Nixon/Ford

Reagan cultists can't build up their guy without smearing his predecessor
