In psychology, logorrhea or logorrhoea (from Ancient Greek ?ό??? logos "word" and ῥέ? rheo "to flow" ) is a communication disorder that causes excessive wordiness and repetitiveness, which can sometimes lead to incoherency. Logorrhea is sometimes classified as a mental illness, though it is more commonly classified as a symptom of mental illness or brain injury. (Wikipedia)

(2,795 posts)You know who Kanye reminded me of - with the over animated speaking and maniacal smiling and eyes? Even the way he spoke in that weird gibberish that only makes sense in his head.

West's actions with Trump to suggest to me that the medical diagnosis was correct and that his unusual behavior with Trump is the result of a serious disorder.

(1,606 posts)What we are witnessing is very much analogous to the traveling medicine shows of the period 1880-1900.
Amid advance publicity and great fanfare, the curious and desperate alike would mass to see and hear the spectacle of the "medicine man" who would entertain with exaggerations, hyperbole, deceptions and lies. Uproarious laughter would eventually give way to people lining up like sheep and emptying their pockets in exchange for a bottle that, in fact, held empty promises of making them feel great again.
Healy and Bigelow's Kickapoo Medicine Shows were profoundly successful, with their "Indian Sagwa" and "Kickapoo Indian Oil" selling millions.
This is the fraud of the Trump phenomenon, but its effects are far more deleterious than the limited contents of a purported medicine typically consisted of alcohol, various herbs, and a tincture of opium or morphine.
