Besides Julian Assange being an asset of Russian intelligence, what other major differences between Wikileaks publishing hacked emails and the NY Times publishing the Pentagon Papers?
Thanks

(16,423 posts)Read the leaked emails about Wikileaks' founding. Read Assange's thesis on how to fight oppressive regimes.
The whole purpose of Wikileaks is to destroy organizations via leaking, in order to turn the world into an utopian place. (Not kidding.)
Only Wikileaks is not leaking evenly.
They leaked on Clinton, but not on Trump. (They said, what they have on Trump is less outrageous than what he says on an everyday-basis.)
They also didn't leak hacked text-messages from Paul Manaforts daughter that accuse him of being involved murder. (Wikileaks said, they only publish stuff that hasn't been published before. But they had no problems publishing old news about Russia's SORM wiretapping-program.)
That is helpful

Also, you could say that the Pentagon is a government organization, while the DNC, while it manages the convention and raises money for Democrats, it is not technically a government organization.
