"If you're not terrified, you haven't been paying attention."

That's part of the last line in today's Paul Krugman column in the NY Times.

The Republican Party, and their owners, have been pushing us toward fascism for decades. And they within a hair of owning us all.

Anyone who is somewhat aware of reality knows this. But for those who don't, check out Paul Krugman's column: Link below.

He makes a tremendous case for why we must win big in next month's election. And what America will become if we lose.

Please. Take a moment and read his column. It's a "wake the fuck up or die" piece.

"possible" collusion with Russia? - He does it on TV all the time; no room for debate on that point. lagomorph777 Oct 2018 #4

Add in the investigations closing in on Trump’s many scandals, from tax cheating to self-dealing in office to possible collusion with Russia, all of which give him every incentive to shut down freedom of the press and independence of law enforcement. Does anyone doubt that Trump would like to go full authoritarian, given the chance?

And who’s going to stop him? The senators parroting conspiracy theories about Soros-paid protesters? The newly rigged Supreme Court? What we’ve learned in the past few weeks is that there is no gap between Trump and his party, nobody who will say stop in the name of American values.

But as I said, the G.O.P. is an authoritarian regime in waiting, not yet one in practice. What’s it waiting for?

Well, think of what Trump and his party might do if they retain both houses of Congress in the coming election. If you aren’t terrified of where we might be in the very near future, you aren’t paying attention.

No American should ever again wonder how the fascists took over Germany. They were a minority and yet they gained control of an intelligent, mostly moderate population.

It's happening here right now. To those not paying attention, please, wake the fuck up and oppose the evil pricks -- while you're still allowed to.

IF they manage to get out the midterms with so much as a one seat advantage in both the Senate and House, they will see that, in their demented minds, as affirmation, and they will REALLY push the envelope.

If we can't take the House, America is over.

And for those who don't believe this, watch what this country will very quickly become if Republicans hold full power.

It won't be a place in which any sane person would want to live.
