Christian nationalism, explained through one pro-Trump propaganda film

The Trump Prophecy, a new evangelical film, wants to convince you God chose Trump.

By Tara Isabella Burton@NotoriousTIBtara.burton@vox.com Oct 8, 2018, 1:20pm EDT

I sat in an unmarked cinema hall in New York’s Union Square, listening to a group of people praying. We’d just finished watching a screening of The Trump Prophecy, the controversial hybrid docu-drama made in part by students and faculty at the conservative evangelical Liberty University. Images of American greatness — an American flag, an eagle — flickered across the screen. A white man in his 60s sang out verses from 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

They bowed their heads and thanked God that his anointed one, Donald Trump, was president. Just as the prophecy had foretold.

it is really all about authoritarianism, submission of free will to authority.

i'd like to at least mention the "prosperity gospel" believed, fervently, by so many evangelicals. trump is rich, according to the prosperity ministers, therefore he is favored by god.

these people are not a majority in the usa (in a few states they may be) but they hold a controlling interest in the republican party. add a few "positive thinkers," "objectivists," and multi level marketing believers and we have trump as a formidable cult of personality.

including allowing the planet be polluted to the point of no return as long as they can prevent a woman from having a legal abortion.

abortion, school prayer, and, of course, guns are great fund raisers for them.

hell, they are still making money by opposing natural selection.
