Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Monday that GOP senators were "literally under assault" during the confirmation process for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.
"I couldnt be prouder of the Senate Republican conference. We were standing up for the presumption of innocence in this country
And secondly, we were literally under assault," McConnell said at a press conference in Kentucky. "These demonstrators, Im sure some of them were well-meaning citizens. But many of them were obviously trying to get in our faces, to go to our homes. Basically almost attack us in the halls of the capitol.
"There was a full-scale effort to intimidate."
McConnell's comments came just two days after the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court in a 50-48 vote.

Aw you poor baby. Pissed off constituents aren't as much fun as well heeled lobbyists.

(22,397 posts)If not, they should quit whining about a "mob". Here is what THEY did to reps supporting Obamacare:
Meanwhile, Democratic lawmakers who voted for the bill are receiving death threats and experiencing vandalism. Vandals struck the Tuscon office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), the Monroe County Democratic Committee headquarters in upstate New York, Rep. Louise Slaughters (D-NY) Niagara Falls office, the Knox County Democratic headquarters in Ohio, and the Sedgwick County Democratic Party headquarters in Wichita, KS. Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), the highest-ranking black lawmaker in the House, has said he received an anonymous fax showing the image of a noose and authorities in Virginia are investigating a cut propane line at the home of a brother of Rep. Tom Perriello (D-VA).
