Lindsey Graham Says Hes Coming for Purple State Democrats Over Kavanaugh: This is Going to the Streets at the Ballot Boxby Caleb Howe | Oct 7th, 2018, 3:27 pm
On Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace interviewed Judiciary Committee member Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) about confirmation process at large regarding Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and in particular about his own reaction to how Democrats handled their role in the process. Graham said hes never been so pissed in his life and vowed to take action before November.
After some opening discussion of Grahams reactions, Wallace brought up the stated intent of some Democrats to continue to pursue action against Kavanaugh should they take Congress.
Democratic congressman Jerry Nadler of New York who would, if the Democrats take the House become the house judiciary chairman, has already talked about launching an investigation into alleged misconduct by Kavanaugh, said Wallace. Nancy Pelosi says she wants to see the FBI interviews and the second background check. It doesnt sound like this is going to end.
Well know in November if that make sense, said Graham. I hope everyone running for the House in these purple districts will be asked the question, do you support impeaching Judge Kavanaugh based on five allegations, none of which could be corroborated? Do you want an outcome so badly that you would basically turn the law upside down? All I can say is that this is going to the streets at the ballot box.
Graham then said that he intends to go out and basically campaign against Democrats running for reelection this year.
Ive never campaigned against a colleague in my life, said Graham. Thats about to change. Im going to go throughout this country and let people in these, you know purple states, red states were Trump won, know what I thought, know what I think about this process.

(12,595 posts)I don't think he has what it takes to get through the first round of Repuke primaries alive, and I think he knows that.
He may be thinking Herr Shitler is going to replace Pense in 2020. Why? Because he can! As AG the very first thing LG will try to do is shut down the Mueller investigation. And, golly, someone will have leaked that the current VP is the one who wrote the anonymous op-ed. Even if it's not true, it will poison Donnie Two Scoops' paranoid mind about the desirability of keeping the silver-haired fox on the ticket. When that happens LG wants to be in the AG seat, waving his loyalty flag on Hannity's show every morning. In 2024 it's a shorter leap from VP to the presidency than from the AG or the Senate.

(7,447 posts)if he's cast as the "heir apparent" to Trump.
SOMEONE is going to get that blessing. I don't think it's going to be Pence.
It's literally his only path.
Being attorney general for possibly two years and then out of government altogether gets him what?
VP? Maybe, but Pence has done such a great job kowtowing that Trump may keep him around.

We'll have to see whether his recent antics have changed that.

(82,849 posts)Well, they got nothing on the sore winners who just got what they so fervently wanted. Graham and the rest of them are madder than ever because we weren't sufficient obeisant. They actually had to stop for a moment and answer legitimate questions. No, they didn't give us a satisfying answer, but they had to spell it out in no uncertain terms. For the likes of Graham and Collins there's no going back anymore, no pretending that they're thoughtful or conflicted or anything. Everyone - everyone - has seen them for exactly what they are. Call 'em like you see 'em? No, we're calling it like it is, and there isn't a counterargument.
