Just so you know, here in Indiana...it's starting

Saw a post on Facebook from a guy that I was friends with in high school that I still keep in contact from time to time, he was attending a pro-life event here in a deep red part of Indiana where the group is now openly calling for a ban on abortion in Indiana and their meeting was basically saying that "with the supreme court now fully in conservative control its time to put pressure on state leaders to move to ban abortion in the state". The comments from people were saying they should b/c it would obviously be challenged but the supreme court would have a better than 50/50 shot at upholding the ban and overturning Roe. If its happening here, I guarentee you its happening all over the country in conservative states. Its only a matter of time and Susan Collins was an idiot to believe it wouldnt be.

And this will bring Republican voters to the polls.

Unlike young people, they actually show up and vote.

They've been trying to overturn Roe for decades. And now they are 2 feet from the summit. They won't stop now.

Quite a few states have trigger bans or old laws that will become active upon reversal.

Note to women: Abortion is fully legal in Canada with no restrictions, especially the Province of Ontario. It is the southern most province of Canada, easily accessed through Michigan and New York, at Windsor and Fort Erie ON, respectively. Toronto has quite a few abortion clinics.

New York legalized abortion in 1970, so upon reversal will become a state that women can go to for the procedure.

Michigan still has a 1931 law on the books, but we will get it wiped out or purge it through referendum.

decision now. Tomorrow. They don't have to wait until it is overturned. If a state passes a law banning abortion, then people will challenge it in court and the appeals will go up to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will then use the case to say that states have the right to ban abortion and thereby overturning Roe v. Wade.

I was driving across town today and saw some anti-abortion protesters out. They seemed to be linked to a right wing church here in town. They are apparently emboldened by Kavanaugh's appointment. I've got news for them. They are sewing the seeds of their defeat.

I think CA will get a law on the books fully legalizing it before a reversal, Peggy. Probably OR and quite a few northeastern and midwest states as well.

I suspect it will be a priority for Governor Newsom.

The states I'm worried about are the red states where women are not treated as fully human, and who will have a very hard time getting to a state where it is legal.

It will be a giant step backward for those women in those red states.

Think of it like Dunkirk in 1940, Peggy.

I’ll help just so I can stick it to the fuckhead fundies.

I think states like NY and CA will make the abortion drugs OTC so they can be mailed to women in the illegal states.

I know there's been alot of controversy because a pro life group wants to open a place next door to the propsed site but has been blocked by Mayor Buttigieg due to the possible hostility between the 2 groups. I'm not sure though if any of this is finalized however.

So bad it got over turned. So of course they are going to try again. Our Statehouse is among the worst - Teaparty central now turned Trumpistan.

Btw, depending on how big a wave, we may just have a congressional upset in Southern Indiana. In part because carpet bag Trey is a terrible candidate. Very entitled. Very much not liked.
