Can the American people handle the truth?

Both Republicans and Democrats need to understand that they are being intentionally divided by a small group of people operating out of Washington, D.C. and St Petersburg, Russia. They are being led by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

In my opinion, the American people cannot handle the truth.

Even if Robert Mueller were to come out and show the evidence that the above is true, it would be dismissed as "fake news".

How many people believe that Trump and Putin are conspiring against our country?

This division is real. People have anxiety and worse because of the use of wedge issues to divide us into separate camps. There is a lot of truth in "divide and conquer". In my opinion, these are intentionally being utilized to create tension among different groups. The world is binary. There are only two sides.

The half that believe the "government" is our enemy?

Or the half that believe the FBI and CIA are useful for the survival of our democracy?

"If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending,
we could then better judge what to do, and how to do it."

Present the truth, let it percolate, and the majority will eventually recognize its wisdom.

Since 60 Minutes showed that news programs could make money the information we receive has been tarnished. False equivalency, creating horse races, your economic record is a disaster but we have to hear it, worst national security failure in the history of man - gotta get their demeaning "tough cop" input, etc.

Lindsay Graham, etc. will be the usual smug douche bags they are, and will invoke the Clintons, Soros, etc. Trump is revered as a Deity now - he can do no wrong in the vast Christian intellectual wasteland of the US. They’d do anything for him, including killing others. They are on a mission from God.

I think there was a lot more damning evidence known to Congress in 2016 than has been released to the public; I think it was largely suppressed in order to avoid having things devolve into utter chaos, riots in the streets, the collapse of the stock market, etc.; I think our elected representatives and the outgoing administration made a decision to keep it quiet and try to deal with it through governmental structures, rather than risk having actual angry mobs take over the streets and tear the country apart. And then of course the GOP is doing their best to capitalize on the situation...but whether the American people can handle the truth or not, I don't think it will fully come out, at least not in our lifetimes.

Also, point taken regarding the small group of nefarious operators intentionally dividing us...but I don't think Fuckface McBonespurs is "leading" anything; I think he's just basically doing what he's told, while Putin and his Oligarchs run things.

While there may only be two sides, there's also a bunch of people who haven't picked a side and are just trying to get by...those are the ones the PTB really want to keep in the dark, and keep distracted...if everyone was forced to choose a side, I think the fascists would be crushed pretty quickly due to sheer numbers...but it would be really ugly and destructive, like someone finally giving in and having major surgery to remove cancerous tissue and organs, rather than trying to treat it with radiation/chemo or whatever. Terrible simile, but that's what comes to mind. Right now, society is mostly in denial regarding the cancer that we have (i.e., "conservatism" or whatever it's best to call it these days....), but it's unlikely to resolve on its own.
