I know a little about false accusations. Just a Little. I was once mistaken for a particularly vile serial rapist and picked up several times by NYC police.
I was shitting my pants for a while, but the investigation was complete and very professional (although I did explain to certain people, like at my job, why they were being contacted). They eventually caught the guy, to everyone's relief. I did not for a moment, btw, consider my slight inconvenience anywhere near the terror of the victims.
This was long before SVU made it to TV, but when I watch it I can't help thinking "Yeah, that's the way it went." They investigated and caught the guy.
He may be still doing time, I don't know. But I also don't know about how his victims ended up. They were elementary and junior high school girls. Back then were there facilities to heal their psychological and emotional wounds? How are they doing today?
I suspect much of the media keeps running that clip just hoping that it eventually sinks in that we elected an amoral thug as president.
