This election is one of the most important in my lifetime.

(1,753 posts)Democrats dont want to appear partisan, vindictive, or out to get Trump.
The best course of action is to pass important, common sense legislation, even though we know it wont pass in the Senate legislation such as immigration reform (codifying DACA, for example).
We want to demonstrate that Democrats are capable of sound, responsible governance, unlike the do-nothing Republican Senate and dysfunctional Republican WH.

(9,727 posts)We have to be pragmatic in our approach. Some wont agree with that however hitting the hornets nest is a bad idea. We cant give more fuel to the opposition to burn us.
It would be my greatest fantasy to be able to impeach Kavanaugh and put Trump in jail.
I believe those actions would stoke the fires on the Republican base to try to overwhelm in 2020. We cant have four more years of the Trump Crime Syndicate in power.
