Regular reminder that if DC and Puerto Rico were states Dems would control the Senate, Brett Kavanaugh would still be an appellate court judge and you would never have had to hear about boofing.

Sounds better than gerrymandering off the Republican parts of California & turning them into states. NBachers Oct 2018 #1

We would have a Democratic majority. Not just Puerto Rico - US Virgin islands, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands

The Senate is broken (arguably it always was). We need a BIG fix (and don't waste your breath telling me how unlikely it is).

We NEED it. The planet needs it. The species (and all the other species) needs it. Whether we get it is up to our gumption and a LOT of things falling into place.

That's what we need to work for. Not getting rid of Rump. Not impeaching that prick Kavanaugh, and/or Thomas or whoever. We need a whole new paradigm.

Personally, I don't see that chances of that as higher than 1 in a 100 but what the hell. Everybody needs a hobby.

The Republicans will do anything to stop it. We already know they are willing to do anything it takes to "win". Family values be damned.

But after the Maria debacle, there's a strong argument for granting Puerto Rico either statehood or independence
