You have 24 hours...

To cry, to scream in despair, to arrange the customary circular firing squads and loose volley after volley...

Then back to work.

YOU HAVE ONE MONTH.

If you are as mad as I am, you have to work for this.

For candidates. DEMOCRATIC candidates. Donate, assist, drive voters, check voter statuses, watch polls.

I've been here forever and I rarely post..but I had to say...

It's up to you. It's has always been up to YOU.

If u don't vote than your feelings about this matter are pointless. We need a blue wave in the house and senate and local elections.

Some states are early voting now! So yes, take 24 hours (max) and get it all out. Then we MUST get back to the GOTV efforts!

Or at least I do. I am too old to march on Washington (been there done that), my representative and my two senators are solidly pro-choice.

So I'm writing checks. I'll be sending double my contribution to Planned Parenthood tomorrow. I hope every Dem does.

I can’t wait to cast my vote for Beto and all the other Democrats who are on the local and state ballot. Finally, most races are contested. This state is so gerrymandered that many Republicans had no challengers for election after election. I have great hopes for my House representative, but she is facing an uphill battle since the Republican incumbent won over 58% of the vote in 2016 and we are gerrymandered six ways to Sunday.

That doesn't sound to me what feeling helpless is like.

We should all feel so helpless.

I will be doing the same, sort of, but online rather than through paper checks. Or were you speaking figuratively?

Thank you for your contributions. They are needed now more than ever before. Every dollar counts.

Don't worry. I'll try to take up the slack. Together, we'll make a good average.

Not as big as the checks George Soros is sending me, but not chopped liver either.

Best wishes.

If you are in the check writing mood... may I suggest Nate McMurray, running to unseat indicted gangster Chris Collins in the NY 27 th.

The terribly, red, gerrymandered district went from sure bet R a few months ago to TOSS UP now.
Nate takes NO corporate $$$ and Gov Cuomo and the DNCC just ignore him because he won't suck up.

now that the SC is completely under fascist control. Who takes what branch of gov next month won't help the patient much, stop the bleeding for a while but a nation still divided, still under billionaire control, still working for putin will need a fundamental change that elections just won't bring.

You might want to consider how FDR battled the Supreme Court.

Here's something that might be relevant to today:

Roosevelt accused the court of having overstepped its bounds and switched from exercising proper judicial review to becoming a "third house of Congress." He denied that the justices were compelled to overturn his legislation by noting that some justices had dissented.

The project had been described as "packing" the court, and Roosevelt demurred, somewhat:

If by that phrase "packing the Court" it is charged that I wish to place on the bench spineless puppets who would disregard the law and would decide specific cases as I wished them to be decided, I make this answer: that no president fit for his office would appoint, and no Senate of honorable men fit for their office would confirm, that kind of appointees to the Supreme Court.

Franklin Roosevelt and the Supreme Court

[Emphasis added].

Informing the electorate is important. Roosevelt used his "fireside chats" to do so. We have to do something to overpower -- with facts -- the ratings-driven noise and contrived false equivalency of tv "news".

has a great strategy, and I have volunteered as one of the people to help her. She's buying regular postcards and having volunteers fill them out and send them to registered Dems who voted in the presidential election but not in the primaries this year. It's an effort to engage EVERYONE of us on Team Blue - to remind those who might not have voted to take the trouble and fill out their ballots.

So far in her campaign she's knocked on 20,000 doors personally, and she's been tracking rises in Democratic registrations in our county. We're getting more every day.

She's going to have a final push with some radio ads during the last two weeks, so I'll be donating as much as I can for her there.

I also got yard signs.

Hey, guys, we have to get Dems in office AT ALL LEVELS. I've really been going all out this time around supporting local candidates and not just state and national ones.

Ryano42 is right. We all have to step up!

I've seen it over and over the past 46 years since I first voted for McGovern.
Oh, voters on the Left are great when they are excited or motivated to bother to cast their ballots
but otherwise they are complacent. When it comes to being vigilant and dedicated voters the Republicans have us beat. To capture the judiciary has been the long game and Republicans who didn't like Trump but voted for him anyways because the Supreme Court was important to them and they didn't want Clinton to be nominating new justices have gotten just what they wanted.

Nice rah! rah! speech though.
