Still, they are crucial. That's why people like Manchin matter. Not because they're wonderful, progressive Democrats, because they are not. Only because they have a D after their name. Unless we have 51 of those Ds get elected to the Senate will we have a majority. More would be better, but 51 is all we need.
Then, we have the Senate Majority Leader. Then, the chairs of the committees are all Democrats. Then, we control what bills come to the floor.
So, don't wish for Manchin to lose. If he loses, we may stay in the minority, and we've all seen what that means.
In fact, do what you can to get those lousy Democrats elected. It matters. It really matters.
Without a majority, we might as well not even be represented in the Senate. That's the lesson of this year. We need to learn it, understand it, and act accordingly.
I don't like Manchin. I probably won't like Bredesen. There are other Democrats of whom I'm not fond. But, i want them all to win in November. We desperately need a Senate majority. Don't cause us to lose that if we have a chance.
Thanks

If the GOP retains control of the Senate after the 2918 midterms, Lindsey Graham will be the head of the Judiciary Committee. I will probably donate this week to both Bresdesen and Manchin because I do not want Graham to be the head of the Judiciary Committtee
