As of January 20th 2017 the most important qualification for a Supreme Court Justice is how much he can troll liberals.

Sure Trump feels he can use Kavanaugh if he gets into a legal bind that reaches the Supreme Court, but his main reason for picking Kavanaugh was to be a vindictive adolescent douchebag, he's a very, very, small man who doesn't think beyond that

I would be willing to bet my house that if all eight current Supreme Court Justices were allowed to anonymously vote on Kavanaugh all eight on them would vote against him, including Clarence Thomas. There is absolutely no reason for someone like Kavanaugh to be on the Supreme Court, other than Trump proving he can be a flaming asshole and still control the submissive GOP.
