I can understand Manchin, but I don't know how to feel about Bredesen. He said he would vote for Kavanaugh if he were in the Senate but he's not and it's hypothetical and maybe a bad calculated answer during a campaign. I really don't want a Senator Blackburn. She is so awful. She'll be everywhere she can get her face if she's elected. Sunday shows, Fox News, she wants the fame and notoriety and she is odious.

(146,320 posts)I can't imagine that they'd support either of those two financially, once they said they'd vote for Kavanaugh. It's an independent organization with its own agenda.
To regain a majority in the the Senate, though, we need those two Senators. It's a dilemma. I don't like Manchin, but West Virginia is an unlikely state to elect a Democrat in the first place. if they'll elect Manchin, then we could use the numbers. Same goes for Bredesen in Tennessee, another solid red state.
But, I don't expect moveon.org to compromise its principles to support them.

(10,836 posts)Morrisey and Blackburn would be so-o-o much better than their Democratic opponents for the U.S. Senate, no doubt voting 0% of the time for anything remotely aligned with the Democratic Party, let alone with the interests of the country. Or the world for that matter.
Because cutting off your nose to spite your face is such a winning strategy.

(2,795 posts)The Senate is going to be a tough get so all the help the Dems can receive would be really helpful.

(2,795 posts)Why insert yourself in such a volatile process if you don't have to??? He could have easily said he's focused on Tennessee issues of healthcare, jobs and whatever they are most interested in and say he can't say since he's not involved.
Either he feels that way or he was trying to get some cross over deplorables
