Elections, and not voting in them, have consequences.

Some, enough, voted Green.

Millions, for whatever reason, did not bother to vote at all.

And to any reading this, if one of the above categories applies to you, Kavanaugh and Trump are the result of your choice.

On the other hand, many were prevented from voting. And we must work to counter that GOP suppression.

About 35% of Democrats who were registered in 2016 didn't vote. Kaleva Oct 2018 #9

Also, our disastrous Senate performance in 2014 was the beginning of this. When will Democrats ever learn that every single election matters? If we had held onto just three of those seats in 2014, we wouldn’t be in this mess now. I don’t know what can be done... SAD!

I was involved in many local campaigns as a candidate (sometimes successful) and as a campaign manager and worker. Often I would have the voter lists in my hand while talking to someone who was not registered and they would insist they were registered and that they vote every election.

in my experiences talking to people is the fear that if they register they will be called for jury duty. Never mind that most states don't pick jurors by referring to voter registration, they don't believe it.

And the non-registered member would often insist that the voter list was incorrect.

In our national and local union elections, it is and was rare for more than 50% of the ballots to be returned. And there was a stamped, pre-addressed envelope provided with each ballot.

We see the results—Unions losing power, environment getting trashed, public idiocy in trade deals. Babies in cages, welfare for farmers but not for the poor, shitty insurance plans, deregulation (well thought out deregulation in certain areas can be good, what we have is a shit show) One drama event overshadowing the last drama event. A President whose dick we have a description of and who wears toilet paper on his shoe, because nobody fucking told him. His wife is in Kenya making fucked up fashion choices again. Christ what an asshole SHE is.
So. Yeah.

Is it messaging, a reaction to past performance, or a combination of things?
