Avenatti pushes back after Collins blasts client's allegations in Senate floor speech

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing Julie Swetnick in her allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, condemned Sen. Susan Collins's (R-Maine) remarks Friday slamming Swetnick's accusations as "outlandish."

".@SenatorCollins is channeling [President] Donald Trump. Entirely disingenuous and shameful. Where was she when Judge [Merrick] Garland could not even get an up or down vote?" Avenatti tweeted during Collins's speech on the Senate floor. "This is all about her post-office job opportunities on K street. We shall never forget. Not in Nov. Not in 2020. Not ever."

".@SenatorCollins should be ashamed of herself for attacking my client and Dr. Ford. How did she make a credibility determination as to my client?" he added in a subsequent tweet. "How is she qualified to do that without ANY investigation? She did ZERO to determine whether my client and her witnesses were credible."

Avenatti released sworn testimony from Swetnick last week alleging that Kavanaugh took part in efforts to "gang rape" girls in high school. She alleged that Kavanaugh was present during a party in which she said she was a victim of gang rape.

Her husband was a lobbyist for a while. Might be where she got the idea.

The right wing thinks the wind will leave our sails and we'll be prostrate before them. Well, nuts to that crap.

I wish him every good there is so that he can keep fighting for his clients and America. I don't need a strongman to follow. But inspiration to do the things I know I can to resist and to make change.

Let the right wing crow and grow stupid from inhaling from their own fart gas. November is coming.

this is 2018, and we are not going back. After seeing this whole thing unfold over the last 2 weeks, the blatant disrespect they have for the American people especially those who were sexually assaulted, and not taking anything seriously especially those on the Committee and Senate they are the biggest liars and traitors this country has ever seen.

Grassley, Hatch, Graham, Coryn, Collins damn them all.

Yes, Repubes are high as kites on that sh*t. They are slow and stupid, and we need to be nimble, fierce, and unrelenting. I welcome anything Michael Avenatti can bring to the struggle.

The advances of The New Deal, voting rights, the social programs of the 60s and 70s and the right to choose are at risk. We have to tend those roots and keep the right from digging them up and setting fire to them. Taking the House is paramount.
