...the Supreme Court nominee didn't apologize for his behavior, he doubled down on it, hiding behind his family for lashing out at his accusers and those who brought their voices into the open to confront him.
I'm picturing Kavanaugh exploding in anger at his wife or daughter after they revealed to him they had been sexually assaulted, calling their claims a 'conspiracy' and a 'lie.'
I'm imagining him telling them he was going to just plow through their accusations because the reputation of their attacker was more important than their trauma they experienced and described. I can see him gathering as many people in the neighborhood together as he could to publicly mock their claims.
He'd make that defensive stance of his the rule of his house, thereafter, intending that no one dare speak out again for fear of anger, ridicule, and ostracization.
Kavanaugh is a monster who doesn't deserve more of a moment of consideration for his feelings or reputation than he's afforded Dr. Ford. He's determined to forge a nation of laws which are at deliberate odds with the interest of his wife or daughters, and he's poised to advance to that position of authority by plowing through accountability for sexual assaults he's been accused of by multiple victims.
As a husband and a father, Kavanaugh has placed his well-being ahead of his family's, insisting that denying his advancement to the highest court in the land is more traumatic than what he's accused of doing to his victims- insisting that the voices of victims of sexual assault should be silenced in deference to the reputations and careers of their assailants.
That's what his anger was all about in the hearing. That's what he's still whining about today.

(6,856 posts)Have not slammed Kav for contempt of Senate. Not a single person in family, criminal or civil court would get away with that abusive, disruptive and contemptuous behavior. Calling the process a joke. Geez. Any parent would have lost custody for one nasty remark to the judge.

(10,130 posts)Against that backdrop, I testified before the Judiciary Committee last Thursday to defend my family, my good name and my lifetime of public service. My hearing testimony was forceful and passionate. That is because I forcefully and passionately denied the allegation against me. At times, my testimonyboth in my opening statement and in response to questionsreflected my overwhelming frustration at being wrongly accused, without corroboration, of horrible conduct completely contrary to my record and character. My statement and answers also reflected my deep distress at the unfairness of how this allegation has been handled.
Why isn't he front and center calling for 'fairness' and the FBI to review the 40 plus witnesses who have asked to speak with the FBI?
Why is he sitting on his hands while Grassley, McConnell and Trump whitewash with a pretense of an investigation?
Is that the conduct of a Supreme Court Justice who would want his named fully scrutinized and cleared with no favors?
His OpEd reaffirms with his failure in this regard, why he should not be a judge for any court.
