Tony Schwartz: Trump's a criminal. Incomprehensible that he's free. Insane that he's president.

Tweeted about an hour ago, after the Ari Melber interview:

Let’s be clear: we have a president who is a criminal and whose crimes, were he anyone else, should have landed him in prison for the rest of his life. Incomprehensible that he is free. Insane that he is president.

Because he's not a smart criminal. He's a dumb, thin skinned criminal.

I think it's partly a result of the highly effective "liberal media" narrative that right wingers have been pushing for the past several decades. The media is so damn afraid to call things as they are, and they overcompensate by acting as if all statements are equally valid opinions. There are no facts. There are no lies. There are only opinions.

Of course Trump is a criminal (for starters, he bragged openly about committing sexual assault). Of course Kavanaugh has repeatedly lied under oath. And of course the media won't bluntly state those facts.
