U.S.A Classmate Has Told the FBI That Kavanaugh Lied Under Oath About Knowledge of Yale Assault, Report Says
Glenn Fleishman Glenn Fleishman 15 hours ago
If the texts were found to be accurate, they contradict sworn testimony by Kavanaugh.
The classmate, Kerry Berchem, prepared a memo about the text messages and attempted to submit them to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 27 following Kavanaughs testimony and that of Christine Blasey Ford, according to NBC News, which obtained a copy of the memo.
The Republican staff of the committee didnt forward the memo to the FBI and a spokesperson for Charles Grassley, who chairs the committee, said the texts werent relevant. A Democratic senator on the committee, Richard Blumenthal, said he worked with Berchem to submit them to the FBI directly.

(14,176 posts)They are bathing in the luxury of their unmitigated power they have now. No way they give in now. Because to them its all partisan, always has been, always will be. It was never about Kavanaugh's qualifications, it was about doing what they want, when they want, and not losing any face.
In fact it works out well for them if they weren't so stupid. If they'd not have to have all this hubris and if they simply withdrew K and quickly nominated some other loyal soldier who had a boring uneventful college life, but underneath was a Trump supporting asshole willing to protect Trump and every GOP law enacted, they'd be in a great position. Because even the MSM like CNN would be critical of Dems for opposing the new nominee, (and some wouldn't). It would then really look like it was the Democrats that were playing partisan games. And he'd be sworn in easily, and in time.

(409 posts)so incredibly damning comes out in regard to Trump, his administration, a Republican, or Kavanaugh, etc. that I think to myself this is it.. this is the one that's going to finally sink the ship, there's just no way they'll be able to sweep this one under the rug and get away with it.. and then they do, every single time.

Christine Blasey Ford knowingly risked the safety and well-being of herself and her CHILDREN.
Why are Kav and Ford NOT being interviewed by the FBI, which has the resources to interview 100s of people simultaneously?

(9,865 posts)I read that a list of potential accusers was on the New Yorker reporter's list and as per usual practices, they asked for his version---so he knew in advance of the article so not because he's guilty. I know he's guilty---but the lie to the committee was only that he said after the article and he "meant" after the New Yorker contacted me. That's how I understand the sequence.
Which, if true, changes the meaning.
