Our system of gov is broken

It may take a few constitutional amendments to fix it. My list includes

* Dump the electoral college. There should be a simple majority vote to elect the POTUS and VPOTUS
* Get the dark money out of politics. No more PACs. Everyone, including corporations, are limited to a max of $2500 per candidate.
* Supreme court justices to serve a finite number of years (12?).
* Term limits on congressmen and senators. Max of 3 terms per senator, and 4 terms per congressman.
* Fix the 2nd amendment. Congress can legislate sensible laws to regulate gun ownership.
* Fix the voting rights act, including restoring voting rights to ex-felons, who have served their time and completed other penalties and fines.

before the candidates are allowed to run for office.
A political office or judgeship can only be held for 2 terms and no more than 10 years total.
Politicians that hold an office will not be allowed to be lobbyists or use their previous political positions for influence or financial gain.
Drastic controls installed on our very corrupt so-called healthcare system before the whole damn thing goes bankrupt and collapses; single payer f'ing simplified!
Reduce the power of the Presidency so what has happened cannot happen again; limited executive orders, etc.
Drastically curb the corporations abilities to become MEGA monopolies.
Turn all banks into non-profit credit unions that are limited in size; no more banksters!
Install laws to protect all the environments, natural resources, all animals including wild, domestic and livestock.
Global warming is real and cannot be ignored.
Limit the number of offspring by any human regardless of the number of partners to 1 or 2.
Stop the ability for the wealthiest to continue to transfer all of the wealth to themselves.
We are one of the most, if not the most, corrupt nations in the world and we need to change our ways or go the way of Rome and the Romans.
I could go on and on!

3. Example: Germany.

* In Germany, you have a First Vote and a Second Vote.
The First Vote counts towards which candidate do you want to win in your district. The Second Vote counts towards which party do you want to win nationwide. Both results are combined into the make-up of the parliament.
It's perfectly normal to split your two votes between two parties. Smaller parties usually enter parliament via the Second Vote, because they amass popular votes nationwide despite not running candidates in districts.

* A voting-system that allows small parties to compete.
The US is stuck in partisanship because it's a winner-takes-all system split between two parties.
Get popular vote into the mix so small parties can enter without stealing votes from political allies.

* Elections are simpler and safer, if you prepare ahead.
You are automatically registered to vote when getting a national ID.
When moving to a different city, the voter-rolls get updated right here and right now. (There are no voter-roll purges.)
When an election is ahead, you get a notification by mail one month ahead when and where you are supposed to vote.
When you want to vote, you need to show the notification and an ID.
Ballots are pen&paper.
You may eyewitness the counting of the ballots, as long as you don't disturb.
You may record the counting with a camera, as long as you don't zoom in to show results of individual ballots.

* German Supreme Court
The Supreme Court Justices are elected for a 17-year term. Who elects them? Other justices. The process is completely nonpartisan.

No reason a rich person should be able to contribute millions just because they can create 1,000 corporations.

Government should not be able to choose who gets to votes even current felons should be able to vote. Otherwise politicians can choose their voters.
