You can block certain programs or channels, by the ratings (PG, MA, etc), or by specific programs.

I have been blocking Faux Noise in my house for years, first with DISH, then DirecTV, now with Prism. If I had ever caught my parents watching it I would have done it at their house, but luckily they never watched it.

Last night I almost did it on the motel TV. Every time you turned it on it defaulted to Faux Noise. I was very irritating. I was simply too worn out from Mom's funeral to take the steps to try it.

Mom had a good life - 76 years of marriage and 97 years of life. She was very active in preserving the local history of the community where she lived. She was a leader in many of the local organizations and her talents have been missed since she was no longer able to be active.

I'm at peace with her passing. It was her time and she simply slipped away in her sleep. I'll miss her but I am glad she will have no more pain.

Sorry about your mom too. This has been a rough week for you, hasn't it? Try to take care of yourself and be kind to yourself.

In comparison, this week was just another step in life.

Let's see:
My husband's mother spent a year with problems from her severe COPD - he helped his siblings take care of her. She passed away January 2017.

July 2017 - The barn that we built almost forty years was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.

Thanksgiving 2017, my husband's appendix burst, we didn't realize it and he almost died from the infection.

The week before that my aortic valve was diagnosed. Last fall while trying to get into a clinical trial for non-invasive valve replacement for low risk patients they found a mass on a kidney. Good news - I got the TAVR (trans arterial valve replacement) but a month later they took out the kidney - which was cancerous. Good news - no signs that the cancer had spread and all I have to do is to make sure I keep up with monitoring to make sure there is no recurrence.

After doing the cardio rehab to get in shape from those operations, my L5 vertebrae has proven unstable. I have to lose thirty more pounds before they can operate on it. (I've lost 13 pounds in the month since they told me so I think I can get there by the first of the year.)

Anymore when bad things happen I just power through but I have been low on energy for much other than basics. LOLcats in the Lounge help and my hobbies do too. If it gets any worse, I will go back into counseling like I did after my Dad died.

The news itself is already so grim - and now this, on top of everything.

It’s good that you’re HERE. You’ll find oceans of empathy and sympathy here. DUers are genuinely wonderful about that. I’ve never seen them fail to help lift these heavy loads. I always like to remind about something our own Skittles once said at a time like this: “someone’s always here.” Someone’s always here to help shoulder the grief. More accurately, lots of someones. Many of us have had to draw some water from the DU well at one time or other. I certainly have. It’s been a companion and a godsend. I’m glad you’re HERE. Just know you do not mourn alone.

And in other news, that’s an excellent reminder about blocking Pox Noise. Every little thing.

I need to go back and thank everybody who replied in that thread.

In a way her death removed a load. While I was not the primary caretaker - my older sister is in charge, lives closer and has been monitoring our parents since about 2010 when Dad started sliding (he died in 2013) - I did what I could to help Mom and my sister from 300 miles away.

Now Mom is at peace and no longer hurting. Once Mom's estate is settled my sister can go back to her very active life, something she has not been able to do for many years. I've been worrying about her for five years - and she turns 70 in a couple of weeks so deserves to get back to having fun. Those are two major loads off my life.

The funeral yesterday should the the last time I will ever have to be in the same room with my little sister (who is a malignant narcissist and generally an obnoxious person. That is a massive load.

Mom had a good life and was 97 when she went. Aside from our dysfunctional but strong family of women, she was leader in her community and much admired for her achievements. She has been missed in the town since she retired from public life.

.

I have kids and there are PORN Channels that I don't want to display, with their show names and descriptions.

I can block the Channels so you can't click on them, but the default menu option shows all of the Channels.

There is no way to change that.

Right now, there are shows like:

Strap-On Seductions - Erotic beauties experiment with lesbian kissing and strap-on sex.
Deviant Housewives - Sex hungry tramps fill the void with big sticks
Sexomania - No description.
Airport Strip Searches - Men and women alike get felt up, stripped down and double banged.
Couples Bang To Pay The Rent - Shy couples get nakes and start screwing. . . while pervert landlord watches.
I Motorboated My Tutot's Big Boobs - Male students can't focus on studies with tutor's huge melons. . .
Big Boob 18YO Car Wash - Juggy babes give full service car washes with happy endings.
I Let My Pervert Roommate Stick It To Me - Hot girls catch pervert teen boys spying and playing with panties.
