He doesn't hate women. He doesn't even think about them as more than sexual objects. They aren't worth the emotional energy to hate. they weren't people. From Greek and Roman times there were slaves and other non-citizens who did not have many basic human rights. We kept up the tradition a few hundred years ago.

Immigrants, losers in the latest war, serfs, non-landowners, captives-- historically all with few if any rights. And there were always women if no one else was around to oppress.
