https://www.vote.org/At Vote.org, you can:
- Check your registration status (everyone should do this)
- Find your polling place (classic voter suppression tactic is to move precincts to lower turnout)
- Get an absentee ballot (especially if you are a student away from home or you travel a lot for work or you just like the convenience of absentee voting).
- Get election day reminders
I would also Google to see if your state has ID requirements if you plan to go to the polls. If so, get your ID in order.

(14,313 posts)right up to and including on election day. You never know with these sneaky Russia-aligned fucks, whether they will try to alter your registration surreptitiously and deny you your vote.

(5,790 posts)Can't hurt to check. Might hurt a lot if you don't.

(402 posts)If you have early voting in your state, you should also do that. Should any unseen glitches arise at the polls, you will have an opportunity to fix them AND at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist; if the Russians start messing with our electric grids, it will be ON election day itself. VOTE and VOTE EARLY.

(23,238 posts)Yes, do these things now! DO NOT WAIT until election day, or the day before, or you may be too late to fix it!
The one thing you need to do on Nov. 6th is VOTE!!

(5,790 posts)In a perfect world, I'd ask everyone who has read the thread to do two DU things:
1) Google your state's ID policies, voter reg deadline, and early voting policies
2) Post those (or a link to those) in your state's group on DU
I think the site I posted is terrific. I just want to make sure all the bases are covered.
E.T.A. See NastyRiffRaff's post below - it talks about Voter ID through Vote.org

(12,448 posts)You can do that through vote.org (great site! Thanks for posting it, Algernon.) On the home page, scroll down to where it says "state election centers." Click on your state. You may have to scroll but it will have everything you need: ID requirements, early voting info, absentee ballot info, registration deadlines, etc. As well as any state-specific information such as same-day registration, if applicable.

(5,790 posts)I'm embarrassed I didn't figure that out.
