Pence calls Kavanaugh 'man of integrity,' predicts confirmation

Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday called the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh "a man of integrity with impeccable credentials.”

Pence dismissed the sexual misconduct allegations that have roiled Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing at a gathering of evangelical activists in Washington.

“Honestly, the way some Democrats have conducted themselves during this process is a disgrace and a disservice to the Senate and the American people,” the vice president said.

“That being said, the president and I are confident that Senate Republicans will manage this confirmation properly with the utmost respect for all concerned.”

Evangelicals offer influence, money, and votes. The former Catholic Pence could easily segue into a fundie point of view on abortion, a topic that is a big driver of support (especially in the form of $$$) for the right 🙄 politicians, and one that actually gets out the vote for their team.

Call me cynical, but the guy's behavior towards Trump suggests to me that he will do ANYTHING for political power. Phony as they come.

That Kavanaugh's credentials are impeccable ?

1) Elian Gonzales - A child, whose mother, desperate to escape Cuba, makes the journey across the Straits of Florida, only to die and leave the boy with relatives. His father, still in Cuba, demands that his son be returned to him. The legal circus that ensues is overseen by Brett Kavanaugh;

2) Bill Clinton - after an affair with a consenting adult finds himself about to be impeached for the indiscretion. Who did the legal work for Kenneth Starr ? Brett Kavanaugh; A man who now has completely prostituted himself to get on SCOTUS by promising the current morally-bereft president that he will vote him above the law;

3) Has already voiced that corporations/companies should have the right to opt out of covering contraception for women in their health insurance coverage, and who WILL overturn Roe v. Wade;

4) Opposes affirmative action and will vote to terminate it;

5) Believes that the EPA does not have the authority to regulate air pollution across State lines;

6) Will further erode the separation of Church and State;

7) Refuses to recognize Native Americans and Alaska Natives as sovereign people.
