Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's wife, Ashley Kavanaugh, has received multiple threatening emails that are being investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service, a source involved in Kavanaugh's confirmation process confirms to CBS News.

A protective detail of U.S. Marshals is protecting Kavanaugh and his family, according to a law enforcement source. The Wall Street Journal first reported that Kavanaugh's wife had received threats that are under investigation by the U.S. Marshals.

"The threats are real, they were directed at his wife, and that's serious stuff. And they've heightened in recent days," a White House official told CBS News.

CBS News obtained copies of three of the profanity-laced threats directed at Ashley Kavanaugh and has decided not to publish them because of their obscene content..................

If so, I would think it would be difficult to contact her unless they had her personal phone number. My first reaction was that they (repubs) were trying to get sympathy and concern for Kavanaugh that, of course, would need to be bigger and worse than what Trump's buddies did to Ford.

It is never ok to threaten a woman, ever, and these days with everything and everyone dancing on a razors edge. Just because she is married to a piece of shit, does not mean she should be threatened.

If the threats were real, which I wouldnt doubt in this day and age, there will be an investigation to prove so. These people who made these threats arent juveniles, they're criminals.

The FBI investigation pertains only to the threats Ford has received since coming public with her allegations last weekend; it is not about the assault accusations against the Supreme Court nominee.

Ford has alleged that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the early 1980s by pushing her into a bedroom at a party and attempting to remove her clothes. Kavanaugh has categorically denied the allegation.

Democrats, and Ford, have pressed for an FBI investigation into the alleged incident, while Republicans and the White House have resisted calls for an FBI inquiry and have said that the Senate Judiciary Committee can handle an investigation into the allegations...
