Consider the irony: the "uber-masculine" Republican party; the party overwhelmingly

favored by men; that party delegates the questioning of one woman to a committee of eleven men and those men choose to hide behind the skirts of a female "outside counsel".

"You can come out now, guys. She's gone."

It’s ridiculous. They are so clueless they don’t realize it will make them look silly.

If you use a woman to question her then you can say you did so for the victim's comfort. They'll say they did everything they could for the victim.

If the choice of woman is attacked, they'll feign shock and offense that a woman is being attacked. Demand to know just what people expect. They're doing everything they can to be fair.

They'll choose a woman who will pretend to care but whose only duty is to exonerate Kavanaugh.

Once that happens, the GOP will then say they've done all they could and that Christine Blasey Ford wasn't viewed as credible by an independent/outside party.

It's not about being fair to them. It's about the appearance of fairness.

It's not about the victim or her claims at all. It's about manufacturing a narrative they can use as a bludgeon - one that allows them to confirm Kavanaugh.
