(2,892 posts)I've been thinking the dems need to get out ahead of the bullshit planned for
Monday and this might be the way...

(13,571 posts)Any network would do anything to get that.
Who is the perfect person to interview her?

(7,447 posts)Is the best person

(13,571 posts)Someone who gets out of the way of the story and just prompts. Maddow's strength is analysis and conclusions.

(51,635 posts)Have her do an interview on her show. I also added for her to look into the gambling problem and huge debt that the GOP is afraid will come out about Kavavaugh's past.
Grasswire2
(13,571 posts)She attracts critics and haters because of her strong personality. A very gentle sympathetic figure is needed here. I was thinking about Tulsi Gabbard or someone of that nature. Someone who is not the story.

I along with many others here on DU think she should bypass the committee and go right to an interview. Didn't Stormy Daniels do this with 60 Minutes? It may help. Get the American people involved in this. We have a lot at stake right now.

(108,997 posts)Since they're trying to box her in, she could instead set her own terms.
They're acting in an unfair manner, and she's not bound to any secrecy agreement. I assume her lawyer is giving thoughtful consideration to getting out ahead of them on this.
oberliner
(58,724 posts)That was already more than she had wanted to do.

(58,724 posts)I just would hate to see what the fallout could be from going on television. It seems like the RW will attack her relentlessly (even worse than they are doing now) and her appearance will be cast in the most negative light possible by that crowd - and they are vicious. I just don't feel like it is fair to ask to her to go through that.

(3,469 posts)She should hold a press conference and tell her story directly to the people.
madaboutharry
(40,224 posts)I really do believe she needs to do this. It is her story and she should tell it on her terms.
There has been suggestions of going Monday under protest, but she should tell it first on her own.

(63,923 posts)hmm.... he would be good too, and he's not a stranger to these situations either. We can give all the suggestions we want, but the bottom line is Dr. Ford's decision. But if she does this women will rally big time.

(2,032 posts)Republicans slamming Kavanaugh through, damn the torpedoes. Well lets unload a whole fleet of U-Boats worth of torpedoes starting immediately.
Avenatti has done more to push back on the Trump Train than anyone.
He even bagged Cohen, single handedly (well let's count Stormy too, sorry Stormy).
Republicans control the narrative right now and something needs to be done.
Having another anti-choice pro corporation fascist who tries to rape girls on the Supreme Court can't happen.

(10,437 posts)the bottom line, any failure by Ford to tell her story in front of the american people either in the senate hearing or on TV will damage all future efforts by women who have gone thru similar situations.

(15,290 posts)They'd do an interview 1 on 1 with no audience and Dr Phil would be an empathetic questioner. Also, his show is taped in LA, so she wouldn't have to leave CA.
60 Minutes would work and is gets a lot of viewers. There's also 20/20, Dateline and 48 Hours, all of which will cover breaking stories and they run Friday/Sat.
