And they've already done a background check. Five or six of them, in fact.

That would be laughed at and rightfully so.

The GOP has many reasons to not want an investigation. He probably did it. It also will keep the GOP attitude toward women in general, Kavanaugh is deeply unpopular (both for his views and for this), anything that drags this out will risk not getting the seat filled before the November elections.

Think of the ways you prove your innocence.

The best way is an alibi. I was with my parents in Europe that night. Here is my stamped passport to prove it.

He can't do that here. He doesn't know what weekend he's being accused.

So the FBI will talk to her and him. She'll say he tried to rape me. He'll say he doesn't have any idea what she's talking about.

They'll talk to Judge. He'll say he has no memory of that party but then he's an alcoholic with a history of blacking out.

They'll talk to PJ who will say he has no memory of any such party.

They can't check for physical evidence 35 years later. They don't even know the physical place. They can't check with the owners of the house. What house? They can't ask neighbors.

Even if they find someone who says they were at that party and wondered where she went, how would he/she remember which particular party they're talking about. If someone says they remember Kavanaugh being at the same party as she was, how would they be able to tell it was that party and even then if they were both at the same party, so what does that prove?

So the FBI report says they got the stories of accuser and accused. Due to the long time period they were unable to find any physical evidence or corraberating witnesses.

So the Democrats say they believe her and that's why there's nothing in it for him to ask for an investigation. All it does is extend the hell his family is going through now.
