This Sunday, a special edition of "Meet the Press:" Who is Paul Ryan? Mitt Romney announced the Wisconsin congressman as his running mate early Saturday morning and now both parties are racing to define this "young gun" conservative. Joining us, two unique voices in that effort: RNC Chairman and fellow Wisconsinite, Reince Priebus and Governor of Ryan's home state of Wisconsin, Scott Walker.

Plus, the view from the Obama campaign. The President's Senior re-election adviser, David Axelrod joins us as both sides are working furiously to try to define Mitt Romney's number two, Paul Ryan.

The presidential campaign seems to be getting nastier by the week as each side released ads that caused the other to call foul. Is this presidential contest becoming a race to the bottom? What are the big ideas that can bring the country together? Plus what impact will Mitt Romney's choice of Paul Ryan as a Vice Presidential running mate have on the future of the race? Our roundtable weighs in: MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow; NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent and Political Director Chuck Todd; Editor of the National Review, Rich Lowry; and the Washington Post’s Dan Balz

ABC This Week
Following Mitt Romney's selection of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as the Republican vice presidential nominee, Obama campaign senior adviser David Axelrod and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty speak with George Stephanopoulos on the 2012 presidential contest, Sunday on "This Week."

Standing in front of the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Va., Saturday morning, Romney announced Ryan as his vice presidential running mate, launching a swing-state bus tour this weekend. How will Romney's selection of Ryan, a 42-year-old seven-term Republican from Janesville, Wis., impact the race? Will Ryan's selection galvanize conservatives behind Romney this fall? Or will the House budget committee chairman's proposals on Medicare polarize undecided voters?

David Axelrod and Tim Pawlenty discuss Paul Ryan's selection and the latest in the 2012 election, Sunday on "This Week."

Then, the "This Week" powerhouse roundtable debates all the week's politics, with ABC News' Cokie Roberts, former Vermont Governor and founder of Democracy for America Howard Dean, Wall Street Journal Editorial Page Editor Paul Gigot, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, host of Current TV's "The Gavin Newsom Show," and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan

With just two weeks before the Republican convention in Tampa, how does Paul Ryan's selection as Romney's running mate change the general election debate? What factors drove Romney's decision, and will Ryan help or hurt Romney's chances on Election Day? And as the campaigns continue battling for voters in battleground states, have the ad wars gone too far? Can either candidate make a positive case for their election, or will negative attacks continue to drive the campaign?

Rachel afterwards is great but NBC is gonna need the guy with the mop and bucket to clean up after that circle jerk. And I can guess on how many follow up questions DON'T get asked.
