So here's the thing with the Kavanaugh accusation.

If this woman is fabricating the whole story, and certain Democrats are helping her do it, and if she is just a shill trying to sabotage his appointment, and if the whole thing is a conspiracy cooked up by the Democrats, wouldn't they have made the story about an incident that took place after he became an adult?

I believe her 100% And I believe there are more victims. Many more.

IF he is confirmed, he will never have to look for another job for the rest of his life! He will be like Clarence Thomas, sitting doing nothing, just collecting a paycheck.

If the shoe were on the other foot - I would believe that the Repugs would pull something like that. The Dems have too much integrity to cook up such a conspiracy.

Now on the other hand - what if the Repugs put this woman up to fabricating the story so later they can show she is lying thereby making Kavanaugh look like he was falsely accused to gain some sympathy for him and guarantee his appointment. Not that is something I can believe the Repugs would do.

But it is in the republican DNA to make that accusation. Go take a look at some right wing websites. It's exactly what they are saying.

And the RW websites can say whatever. That doesn't mean it's true.

I may be naive but in the end I believe the truth will come out. I like you believe this woman. My gut tells me that Kavanaugh will withdraw himself from nomination before this is ends. I really don't think he's going to want the specter of this to sully his reputation nor bring any more embarrassment to his family. I think he'll put out of this and fade into the background and hope to maintain his current job instead of continually facing accusations as a SCOTUS judge.

I was about to start a thread about him withdrawing his nomination before she even testifies, which they have tentatively scheduled for next Monday. The committee vote on him scheduled for him on Thursday has been delayed. The ship is taking on water fast.

I only hope we can keep anyone from getting approved before we take over the Senate. If we don't Trump will probably nominate Ted Nugent.

there are many who aren't accused of sexual assault. But at least we know why McConnell didn't want him. I have no doubt that if complaints continue, Trump will eventually throw him under the bus.

That would be admitting he was wrong, and Trump is incapable of that. Kavanaugh will fall on his sword and withdrew his nomination, so he won't be a "distraction" to this important process. I say before next Monday. They have to move fast with another nominee if they want him/her sworn in before the election, or at least before a potentially Democratic Senate majority is sworn in.

referring to how much he drank all through law school.

So if he sobered up, it wasn't until he was in his late twenties, at the earliest.

not wanting the exposure, not wanting the press on their ass for years, and not wanting dirt on their entire life dug out of the closet.

It's a rotten aspect of the process to achieve justice.

One thing's for sure about Kavanaugh's future, no matter the outcome of the confirmation process: a black cloud will hang over him for the rest of his life and he may never again be trusted as a reliable judge.
