and if told, I will be lost pn how to handle this. Too much stuff, a lot just laying around. Though have been working on getting rid of stuff, lots of books.
Still, when given a week warning of approaching a hurricane, or even "only" a tropical storm, compared to minutes when a forest fire explodes, why are there still people left calling for help?
I watched the evening news with stories of heroes helping evacuate people, calls for 911, instructions to get into the attics and could not help it: why were you not evacuated when told to do so?
Yes, I know, walk a mile in someone's shoes and yet..

I am thinking of this woman and her infant who were killed when a tree fell through the roof, and the father was barely saved..

(58,785 posts)orders, not most of Wilmington. Guessing that neighborhood probably had a lot of residents sheltering at home. Note that the house and street were not flooded and the house was handling the winds just fine.
One easy little thing we can all do for this poor man and the rest of that grieving family is to not insult them.

(6,808 posts)I would have been gone three days early. Mainly, because of the pets. Books can be replaced or I would be happy to send you some of mine. I have lots, too. 😀

And yes, a few Trump climate deniers.
