feeling its warmth, love and health. but the little girl underneath the table, she is looking at the photographer and at the same time playing around under the table and mom's chair. The little girl is having a good time. She knows about the "chair" and accepts it as a "prop" not a chair. kinda like a prop to get a good view of the photographer...

...Yes, it is a great picture. Mom holding and loving the baby, while the daughter uses the chair as a prop and gets her picture taken while a part of her is under the table....and...she is having fun while kneeling down behind the wheel chair and getting a view of the photographer.

And obviously a very busy one. Home's wherever mommy is.

We're holding over 12,000 immigrant children, btw, many of whom do have parents or other family here whom they're being kept from.

And the plastic cup of water very near the edge of the desk - within reach of the little girl playing under the desk.

Remember the pictures of young JFK Jr. playing under his dad's desk in the oval office?

Seriously,
Beautiful picture of a mom, an American hero, a Senator who actually upholds her oath to the Constitution.

baby is obviously disabled, her focus is totally on the baby that she is holding. And most important, is her entire focus at that moment. The photographer captures that...

The office that mom is in..... doesn't matter.
Her disability.................... doesn't matter.
The job............................ doesn't matter.

All that matters at that moment is the baby..

and yet, at the same time - they all lead to the same place (which Sen. Duckworth is probably thinking as well) - what kind of country do we want to live in? One where we can do anything regardless of race/physical attributes/age, etc. or one where we put kids in cages and break-up families?

Her pride, love, strength and warmness all come through in the photo amazingly well.

EXCELLENT photo!

Besides the incredible set up work of arranging her subjects in an interesting situation, she somehow captures the image at exactly the right moment. That's what makes a great photographer.

This is a keeper for the Duckworth family.

"Duckworth is married to Bryan Bowlsbey. The couple has two daughters: Abigail, who was born in 2014,[79] and Maile, born in 2018.[80]

Maile's birth made Duckworth the first U.S. Senator to give birth while in office.[80][81] Former senator Daniel Akaka (Democrat of Hawaii) helped the couple with the naming of both daughters; Akaka died April 6, 2018, three days before Maile was born.[82]

Shortly after Maile's birth, rules were changed so that a Senator has the right to bring a child under one year old on the Senate floor and breastfeed them during votes.[62] The day after those rules were changed, Maile became the first baby on the Senate floor when Duckworth brought her.[62][63]"
