17 years in the blink of an eye - Only Time

It's as though it happened yesterday. The beautiful clear blue sky. The bridges, tunnels, ferries and railroads closed to all normal traffic. The stream of ambulances on all roads going toward the city. The tremendous plumes of smoke pouring out of lower Manhattan. Watching the buildings fall from a parking lot in Weehawken on the banks of the Hudson. It is important to remember, but it is also a nightmare I wish I could forget.

1. My dad died the year before

On Sept 11.
Every time I hear it I cringe.

2. My mother passed away six months before this tragedy.

I am forever grateful that her beloved Towers were still standing tall in March 2001.
