from grabbing anything off his desk or just plain keeping people out of the oval office. This was a strange confession, that they grabbed stuff off his desk to keep him from doing crap...kind of self defeating, eh?

Right?

That seems to suggest the writer was out to get Trump, rather than EXPOSE him....? Prevent Trump from hurting others?

It would seem to me that if they were thwarting his dangerous policies and not under suspicion and it was successful then good. Now you changed that cause there will be much more scrutiny and it will be much more difficult to stop what he is doing, even stopping him from hurting people. I would think they would want to stop his nefarious policies without incident, and when he leaves office they could expose it all and come out.

7. For GOPers, it's strictly for "self-preservation"

They believe in "survival of the fittest" and "individualism" and they still want to be able to hob-nob with their fellow scum when this is all over and they finally manage to go back to "business as usual". That is why all the reminders to the readers about their "business as usual" drivel, including praising the tax cuts for the wealthy, destroying the ACA so that it crumbles on itself, slashing the regulations that protect our environment and the consumer, eventually eliminating anything to do with the New Deal, and pouring that money into military contractors for privatization purposes, while simultaneously screwing the currently-serving soldiers & sailors, and dissing the vets....

It's like their cry from the wilderness to their brethren that they are STILL going to implement the most draconian GOP polices that they can, come hell or high-water, and despite the thing in the WH that they STILL need there to sign off on their stuff (as Grover Norquist so bluntly stated).

I am not sure this is real or more of the same old "reality TV" bs that trump use on a daily basis. It could be he just wants to rally his brain dead base by using this as a way to prove the "deep state" really does exist. It could also just be, as others have pointed on DU, a way for the mainstream republicans to cover their ass by being able to say "see we kept it all together and protected the country" once trump is out of office, one way or another,

It could also be a plan to use this to get rid of anyone, maybe Sessions, who is not on board with the insanity of the trump WH. Only time will tell.
