A word of caution by Ezra Klein about a Biden-Ryan debate

and I agree with this. Ryan has been able to be elected in a moderate, blue-collar district for years. He is no push-over. He knows how to defend his budget so Biden will have to be ready to go toe to toe with him:

9. Joe Biden has a lot of debate prep ahead of him. I’ve interviewed Ryan three times. Twice on health care (here and here), and once on economics (here). He’s very quick on his feet, and he’s got a lot of experience explaining his plans to skeptical audiences. He’s also a likable and, while I don’t know him very well personally, decent-seeming guy. He’s repeatedly won reelection in a moderate district. Democrats underestimate his political skills at their peril.

That said I'm sure Biden can put in simple, blue-collar language why the Ryan Budget and gutting Medicare would be a disaster.

He's been in politics almost as long as Ryan has been alive. He's a good debater and knows the stakes

not to come off as a bully or a sexist, tip towing around because he was debating a woman. That is all different now. Biden can go for the jugular and he will do it well. The debate will be very different than in 2008.

I'm sure he's excited at the prospect of being unleashed on a republican candidate.

Too many are underestimating him.Majority thought he won(not pundits) against Palin and he had to tiptoe around her. This time
the gloves are off for Biden.

Let's remember the Ryan budget wasn't propsed till 2011 Ryan hasn't had to run on it till now.

some people online are saying they are more Intrested In the VP debate than Presidential debates.

Biden is tested and accomplished, Ryan speaks to the white folks of his district and his party, not women, not the independent voter, not minorities. The larger worry is the ability of these groups to be able to vote including seniors.

He's a union supporter and knows how to state things in straightforward language.

He's also very smart.

Ryan, being younger, might be quicker. Ryan might make a few points in economics...that's his background and not Joe's. But when the questions go to foreign policy and other issues, Joe will have the edge.

Should be good. But...it's mainly about the guys at the top of the ticket.
