Georgia man threatened to 'shoot up' his child's school, deputies say

A Hall County man allegedly threatened to “shoot up” an elementary school that his child attends during a domestic incident, authorities said.

Thomas Shannon Bruce, 35, called Wauka Mountain Elementary School on Wednesday to ask about checking his child out of class, Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch said in a news release. Bruce, who was in a custody dispute with the child’s mother, was not authorized to sign the child out of school.

“Investigators believe Bruce then called his estranged wife and told her he was coming to shoot up the school,” Couch said. “The woman quickly notified school officials, who contacted law enforcement.”
