They could easily have a "high-ranking official" submit it to the Times. And it's doing its job! Media wags are frantically wondering who it is, Dump is raging, his base is masturbating, and other stories recede into the background.
The clue here is that Dump doesn't ever really care what people say about him, but the writer had to make damn sure to mention how great his administration is otherwise except for that insane part.
Classic reality show made-up drama shit.

(173 posts)Anythings possible at this point. This WH has delved into areas no previous administration dared. If the op-ed were part of a WH ploy, it would certainly give Dump the ammo hes desperate for to further go after the media, officials he wants to fire, and anyone else on his enemies list. Im not saying he or people on his camp are responsible, but I do see how they could (and still may) easily turn it around to work to their advantage. It certainly would be a reason for him to consolidate even more power and shield the dealings within the WH.

(3,115 posts)So it was just speculation but it certainly fits the Dump plan -- the only kind he has -- hate and fear and division!

(173 posts)Purely speculation and I would be wrong to say he is directly or indirectly responsible for the piece. The timing is weird with Woodwards book coming out. Could be coincidence. I do know this administration has, on more than one occasion, benefited on news or happenings that should have had a negative effect. This situation could easily play into their hands on some level as well.

I cant believe the NYT fell for this shit. Well maybe I can. They fell for the Iraq war.
