To assume that just because we share the same enemy at the moment make them our "friends" is BEYOND NAIVE

(1,954 posts)"Republican" or "Democrat" are irrelevant.
Once Trump is out of office, the petty partisan whinging can carry on. Until then, be it R or D, anyone who stands against this administration is a de facto patriot who deserves every bit of support they can get.

(10,274 posts)They're not MAGAts...but if they could return the GOP to the 'soft and whispered only' racism it practiced to great effect under both Bushes, I think they would. I'll take 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' FOR NOW, AND wait to withhold further judgement until I see what they say after trump is in an orange jumpsuit.

(47,510 posts)well, he tried, but Schmidt went on.

(4,533 posts)The verbal facility is amazing. I assume he practices earlier, thinks out phrases. At one state of the union address, when Bill Clinton described his health care reform plan, the TelePrompTer broke very early. Clinton had to just adlib it. The speech was fabulous. I saw an older Republican asked his reaction to what he just witnessed. The reporter told him that Clintons TelePrompTer has broken early on. His reaction really was like ours if God presented himself to us filling the sky. He was clearly astounded to the core of his being. He was literally speechless and in awe and wonder. I cant think of anyone else with the verbal skill of Schmidt. Well, one other was spectacular in brief political comment, Margaret Thatcher in answers at question time. She packed as much sound logic perfectly stated in the fewest perfect words as is humanly possible. Then beyond politicsbthere was Alistair Crowley reporting from America for BBC and Daniel Schor for CBS, the most facile and accurate speakers off the cuff. And then the great judges in history for prepared pieces. Ginsburg owns the English language, extreme accuracy of word usage. But not poetic like the greatest jurisprudes.
I digressed.

(16,254 posts)Steve has been through the Palin era and now the Trump era and is totally ashamed of both. It is obvious, the Republican party is an embarrassment to many former members and present members. It appears to me, they are going to bring down the corrupt party or lose it forever.
Steve has predicted this for a long time. I hope he is right.

Does the so-called Senior Administration Official really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!

This means Trumps Presidency is not only illegitimate but criminal. It means a Presidential election was compromised by the most insidious criminal conspiracy in American History. It means Trump is a traitor and Putin determined the outcome. The impeachment bar has been reached

(7,542 posts)we're repukes all along before the current administration. This admin simply never wasted time hiding their agenda. They were okay with lying about WMDs in Iraq, they were okay with extraordinary rendition, they were okay with voter suppression and vote tally manipulation, they were okay with Citizen's United, they were okay with the corporate media's demonization of everything liberal. They were okay with putting Alito on the court and they would be okay with putting Kavanaugh there today. They were vile, reprehensible human beings... and still are. Never forget that fact.
