part of his administration.

If it is one of the generals - I'm a little comforted by that. I said here on DU a couple of times in that past that Trump might have to be taken out by a 'military coup'. In my opinion - in order to accomplish that - a military person in a senior position at the WH is in a perfect position to pull that off.

military reference. Those other grifters are just there to raid the coffers and get their tax breaks and their foreign patents approved, etc. They don't give a hoot about national security because they are set no matter what. Military has a Duty, Honor, Country code which seemed to come through more.

I believe it is Mike Pompeo. Former Congress member and as former CIA Director, has a lot of information from Intelligence community and also now in foreign relations and with allies.

That’s why I feel strongly it’s not the author of the Op-ed.

But they could be “the others”...

We know it’s a he from the NYT tweet (thread elsewhere)

But...Wow! Esp this part:

“Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.”

My guess is it was written by Mattis or Kelly...ersatz babysitters for “His Majesty The Baby” (thank you Dr Freud)

What scares me the most is what if something happens to these babysitters? Then King Twitler will unleash his “amoral” narcissism unfettered.

as the positives. Mattis would not have brought that up.

he also has a background in hollywood and m is an actor(sort of). so they would have reason to want to be seen as one of the better ones.
