He will probably get the 51 votes he needs, but when the Dems have the House, Senate and Presidency in 2021, they MUST open an investigation and impeach this corrupt, lying mother fucker!!

(94,660 posts)On what political basis would you convince 2/3 of the Senate to remove him?
And are Republicans allowed to do the same to our Judges?

Lying under oath at the very least.
On edit - also participating in the use stolen/hacked information to prep another nominee at a conformation hearing on questions that were coming up that could sink that nomination if answered truthfully.

(115,783 posts)as the result of a corrupt process. Only one Supreme Court justice, Samuel Chase, has ever been impeached - that was more than 200 years ago, in 1805 - and he was acquitted by the Senate because his impeachment was considered to have been politically motivated. Lower federal court judges have been removed from office but in those cases they had committed crimes like bribery and fraud. The chances of ever impeaching Kavanaugh range somewhere from vanishingly slim to none.

(3,145 posts)to add more seats to the court. All that would take is amending the Judiciary Act of 1869 while impeaching Kavanaugh would take 67 Senators making it impossible without GOP help.

(42,724 posts)Heck, amending the Judiciary Act would take at least 60 votes unless the Democrat decide among themselves to scuttle the filibuster altogether, something that I wouldn't bet on, at least not in connection with a court packing proposal.
