(4,611 posts)keeping me semi-sane during the ongoing Trump shitshow. He's intelligent, articulate, quietly forceful, speaks up when others remain silent and has a backbone. I suspect he's good Presidential timber.

(98 posts)He'd appeal to the people who didn't vote for Hillary because she was saddled with fake scandals. He'd slaughter the Orange moron in debates and on an election.

(88 posts)Let us not forget that Hillary made mince meat out of Trumpf during the 2016 debates. A lot of good it did.

(90,755 posts)Frum said it doesn't do us much good to learn this months and months later; that they should have quit in a group, told congressional committees, told the media. He asked what were they so afraid of: an angry tweet?
Eric Swallwell is absolutely right.

Now, Congressmembers should sign on to Jamie Raskin's proposal re: implementing 25th Amendment.
REP. RASKINS 25TH AMENDMENT BILL GAINS MOMENTUM, GARNERS 50 COSPONSORS. (There are MORE than 50 cosponsors now.)

He is the Vice Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, a Senior Democratic Whip, and Freshman Representative to the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee. He also serves on the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee and the Committee on House Administration.

(37,648 posts)Many have spoken out about Trump. It has done no good, except confirm what many in the public thought.
So one more sacrificial lamb? To what end? The Republicans in Congress are in cahoots w/Trump. So...now what?
Maybe if a group of officials stepped forward. Maybe. But it's also true that maybe they have told Congress the status of things, how bad it is, and that they are doing what they can, and that is what has given them the excuse for Congress not to act.
This is a nightmare. We are having a Constitutional crisis. The problem is that Congress is part of it.
