(83,900 posts)I mimicked it, it was awkward, unnatural and frankly hurt my hand.
That was no inadvertent hand position.

(175,750 posts)That's not a natural way to hold you hand. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable.

(83,900 posts)I tried it several times, both hands and yep, very very uncomfortable. Inadvertent, my ass! I watched some of it today and she was hard to miss sitting behind Brett boy. She was smirking and making other faces throughout the day and flipping her hair around. 'Look At Me!'
Good to see you, gaot~

(175,750 posts)At least I did get to see the fireworks this morning when the Democrats tried mightily to get an adjournment. And when I got home, there was Condoleezza Rice sitting behind him as if to say he knows African-American people.
Good to see you too!

However, while the "OK" sign as a specific white power symbol was found to be a 4chan prank, it has been used as a gesture of identification among members of the white nationalist alt-right movement[9]. When asked about use of the "OK" sign, Alt-Right celebrity Lauren Southern said, We just say do the thing and everyone knows what you're talking about. She linked use of the "OK" sign by the Alt-Right community to a gesture commonly used by United States President Donald Trump.[10]. In July 2018, four Alabama police officers were suspended for being photographed making the hand gesture, since changing the uncertainty of the acceptable use of the sign.[11] As controversy over use of the sign becomes increasingly widespread in the U.S., ironic use by such far-right groups may become increasly prevalent, requiring an honest assessment of how misinformation can influence real-world sociocultural relationships.

(62,276 posts)There are people sitting around in PR rooms right now discussing various weird shit they can do to get people talking. Because if people are talking about random ass stupid shit then they're not talking about actual issues.

She could have gotten a text, email, voicemail to text, or something else, like a short video or cartoon.
I have tried sitting down and moving my right hand to my left forearm, making the OK sign and it was slightly unnatural, but not at all difficult. I heard there are structural differences between male and female arms which might make it more or less difficult for that to be a resting position for her, but I am not sure about that.
Most of the commentary has been right wingnuts yelling about left wingnuts complaining that the granddaughter of Holocaust victims is somehow a White Power nutcase.
So, it seems to me that the simplest explanation is that she got a message of some sort on the phone, and not being able to talk at the hearing, or send reply texts, she simply acknowledged whatever was said on the phone.
So, what was said and who said it?
We don't know. Could have been confirming a dinner date, or saying the fix was in.

(28,968 posts)digging into her arm. If I take my thumbnail as though I am scratching at my arm, I find my index finger naturally goes into that ok position but my thumbnail needs to be digging into my arm like hers was. I also don't think she would know how much of her arm was showing and at what angle the camera was even if someone did text her that information. If she had done that two inches over it would have been out of sight.
