Impeachment takes 67 votes. We can expand the court with majority vote

Two new SCOTUS justices is sufficient. Gorsch has Garland's seat

Eg a deal between Kennedy and Trump and Deutsche Bank... the only thing I have learned thus far is not to say “impossible” when it comes to this criminal administration.

It should be part of our platform. This fucker shouldn't have a moment's rest the entire time he is in SCOTUS. But it's not about Rump. It's about the 100K pages the Rs refused to release. It's about Kavanaugh lying to get his federal seat.

He inveigled his way into that federal judgeship, and now he's trying to do the same for a SCOTUS seat. But we can certainly turn up the flames and roast his ass.

We have to look at this as an opportunity. Through investigating him, we get to set new rules for appointments, close all the loopholes, and make it impossible for this type of thing to happen again.

Only one Supreme Court justice has ever been impeached, and he was acquitted by the Senate. That was Samuel Chase, in 1805. Some federal court judges have been removed from office over the years but in all of those cases they had been personally involved in serious crimes, usually bribery or fraud. If the process is tainted because the president wasn't legitimately elected or because the WH won't release his documents, that's not Kavanaugh's crime.

Testimony in Congressional hearings is a lot like deposition testimony - people lie all the time but are almost never charged with perjury. The judges who have been impeached were found guilty or confessed to things like bribery or fraud, and that's apparently what it takes. Chase was acquitted back in 1805 mainly because his impeachment was politically motivated, and since then impeachment with political ramifications has been avoided.

Rachel did a good job of explaining his crimes last night. Also his wrongly applied precedents in rulings that were clearly intended as anti-abortion activism.

and are rarely prosecuted for it, unless it's an add-on to another offense. "Wrongly-decided" judicial decisions are absolutely not an impeachable offense. If they were, we would no longer have an independent judiciary. Wrong decisions by lower-court judges are meant to be corrected by the appellate process. A "wrong decision" by the Supreme Court would be at least a 5-4 decision, which would mean all the justices who signed on to the decision would be impeachable. And that's just ridiculous.

It has to be that 2/3 of the Senate agrees that he committed a crime.

If we can't get one Republican to say "let's hold off until we have all the documents"... then you can't get 15+ of them to say "let's remove this guy from the court because we held a hearing before we had all the documents"

Retrumplicans have demonstrated that if you have 49 seats + the VP in a 99 member Senate, you can govern as if you have 80-90 Senators.

If Dems take the House, there had better be PUNITIVE MEASURES for every Retrumplican.

even controlling one house would be enough to grind this fucking shit to a halt...and if anything needed to be ground to a fucking halt, it's Donnie Short Fingers and the Retrumplican agenda.

3.2 MILLION MORE Americans voted for Democrats in 2016, and yet the Senate and the House operate as if there are no rights for those Americans.

Somebody better be looking at all the "fine print" in the Parliamentary Rules and devising a plan to make life unbearable for every Retrumplican in office.

A SCOTUS justice has been impeached ONCE is US History, and that was over 200 years ago. And, he was NOT convicted.

Better solution would be to expand the court to 13 seats once a Dem gets into the White House and control both Houses. Sell it as a national emergency to overcome Russian influence on the 2016 election.
