clearly it's not a very effective punishment if they're only making him more valuable for endorsements.
this is a bit of revenge in the traditional sense ("the best revenge is living well" ) and a small step towards undermining the power the bigots hold.

(45,530 posts)but that's how it works in our capitalist system. Money is what gets influence and attention in this country. We wouldn't be discussing this issue if he wasn't a famous football player.

Going forward, I'd love for him to tweak and refine his message with regard to voting and politics because millions of people are (still) listening.

(530 posts)spending your money on products produced by companies that support acts of peaceful protest like kneeling during the National Anthem will further the cause by making other companies follow suit as long as consumers support the brand. A corporation's only obligation is to their share holders. If they can make money off promoting ethical/moral behavior, they will. If their model proves to be profitable, other companies will follow.
